NEWBERRY COUNTY — Four Newberry County School District teachers attended the 2017 Science P.L.U.S. Institute at Roper Mountain Science Center, or one of the partner sites.

Danielle Burnside Glymph from Newberry Middle School attended Energy 6 course, Kelly Montgomery from Whitmire Community School attended Physical Science 3 course, Summer Lane from Prosperity-Rikard Elementary School attended Weather 4 course and Alida Maffett from Newberry Middle School attended Weather 6.

Institute participants received science materials and supplies to duplicate lessons learned at the institute, new hands-on science activities to use in the classroom, housing for teachers living more than an hour drive from the Center, the option to purchase two hours of non-degree graduate credit through Furman University.
