The Mid-Carolina High School Academic Challenge Team competed in and won the Division II South Carolina Academic Challenge Tournament on March 16. In the course of regular tournament play the team remained undefeated for the year to give them a 17-0 record. In addition, over the course of the year they also participated in outside tournaments where they brought home additional awards and honors. For example, they participated in the USC Challenge Tournament in January, where they emerged as the 2A Champion. All of the students who participated this year devoted a tremendous amount of time to practice and study, but the starting team deserves special recognition: Jackson Delk (co-captain), Grace Alger (co-captain), Grant Mays, Brandon “Wugee” Kelly, Josh Blancher, and Julian McCormick.
