NEWBERRY — Newberry Academy’s annual Blue & Gray Gala on Feb. 4 will be “going gold” in celebration of the Academy’s 50th anniversary.

Guests will take a walk down memory lane as they enjoy numerous pictures and memorabilia on display from the past five decades, all which pay tribute to the many administrators, teachers, students, families and community members who have helped in the Academy’s success.

“Newberry Academy has always strived to be a school that brings out the best in every child,” said Head of School Brian Fitzgerald. “On Feb. 4, we look forward to celebrating 50 years of those who have cared so much about children and supported their dreams and hopes for our school. The hard work and dedication of many have made Newberry Academy who we are today, and for that we are truly grateful.”

The Blue & Gray Gala is Newberry Academy’s premiere fundraising event, featuring a catered prime rib dinner, live musical entertainment, family activities and a live and silent auction. The proceeds from the auctions assist in funding the school’s educational programs.

The past three years have been the largest events in the school’s history, allowing for numerous facility renovations, increases in educational offerings and curriculum, and added extracurricular opportunities.

Local musical artist Brendan Roberts will perform an acoustic set during the dinner portion of the event. Children will enjoy several family activities, including a balloon artist and caricature artist.

The Gala will be held in the Newberry Academy gymnasium. The dinner and silent auction will begin at 5 p.m. with the live auction beginning at 7 p.m.
