NEWBERRY — Community members who have a lunch hour to invest in the students of Newberry County are welcome to become part of Newberry Elementary School’s Lunch Buddy Program.

Schedules are flexible with volunteers visiting weekly or monthly at The Rocket.

“This endeavor provides a great opportunity for our students and members of the community to get to know each other during the students’ lunch time,” said NES Parenting Coordinator Sheila Brown.

Though the school has a faithful presence in this program, NES is working to expand its impact. People who are interested in becoming lunch buddies at NES should contact Brown at 321-2670.
