NEWBERRY — The City of Newberry Police Department is asking for the community’s help in finding a suspect in connection to a car shooting that occurred Friday morning on downtown Main Street in front of Pour Richards.

Lt. Kevin Goodman said they are looking for at least one suspect that may be driving a dark-colored black or green SUV. The gun used was a semi-automatic handgun, but details on the caliber are unknown. No one was injured during the incident.

“Everything is pretty sketchy right now,” he said. “All we know is that we had an incident that involved two people that ended up in one shooting into the vehicle at the other person.”

Goodman said the Police Department is looking for people of interest or witnesses that may have seen what happened to help them identify the suspect. If you have any information on the incident, call 803-321-1010.
