NEWBERRY — The City of Newberry will hold a reception for retiring City Manager Al Harvey on Sept. 13 at 7:45 p.m. at City Hall.
After serving as city manager from 1978-2000, Harvey returned to the city in 2013, serving as city manager three years. He will retire on Sept. 30. The public is invited.
City Council will hold its monthly meeting that night, beginning at 6 p.m. with executive session. The business meeting, which is open to the public, will begin at 7 p.m.with the reception following at 7:45 p.m.
Matt Dewitt, currently the assistant city manager, will become City Manager on Oct. 1.
Harvey
