NEWBERRY — Staff members from Gentiva Home Health are collecting non-perishable food and donations for the Manna House Pantry as part of the Kindred at Home’s 12th annual food drive.

Employees at the Newberry office, located at 2521 Evans St., and fellow employees around the country have collected their “harvest” during August. Kindred hopes to beat the total from the 11th annual food drive held in 2015 when more than 838,000 pounds of goods were collected across the country.

Gentiva Home Health is part of the Kindred at Home family of home healthcare.

“Engaged home health providers are plugged into their community’s resources. That makes us aware of the fact that food banks, pantries and other charitable organizations face increasing demands for assistance,” said branch director Harriet Guy. “Being new to Newberry we are excited about our first opportunity to participate in the company’s Food Drive. We encourage all local healthcare providers to contact us for more information on how they and their employees can participate in this effort.”

Gentiva Home Health provides skilled nursing, physical and occupational therapies and related services to residents of Newberry, Fairfield and Saluda counties.
