Mr. and Mrs. David Dale Cromer of Pomaria proudly announce the engagement of their daughter, Rebecca Margaret Cromer, to Richard Stephen Cates II, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Stephen Cates of Prosperity.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Lever Cromer of Pomaria and Mrs. Bobbie Nichols Smith and the late Mr. William Albert Smith Jr. of Newberry. She is a 2014 Summa Cum Laude graduate of Newberry College where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education with an Elementary Education Add-On Certification and a minor in Art. She is employed by The School District of Newberry County as a teacher at Prosperity-Rikard Elementary School.
The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Rembert Dupre Harmon of Newberry, the late Mr. James Ronald Cates and the late Mary Ellen Stancil Whitetree of Charleston. He is a 2014 graduate of Piedmont Technical College where he received an Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology. He is employed by the South Carolina Department of Transportation in Newberry as an Associate Geodetic Technician.
The wedding is planned for Saturday, October 10, 2015 at half past five in the evening at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church in Pomaria, S.C. No formal invitations will be sent. Family and friends are invited to attend.
