SILVERSTREET — Funeral services for Mr. Jerry L. Jeter Jr., age 28, known by family and friends as “JJ”, will be conducted on Saturday, March 16, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Jeter passed away on Monday, March 11, 2013, at his home.

Born in Bridgeport, Conn., he was the son of Velma Jeter Stephens and Jerry L. Jeter, Sr. He attended Calvary Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Newberry High School class of 2003.

Surviving are his son, Javon Amir Copeland of Decatur, Ga.; mother, Velma Jeter Stephens and stepfather, Tommy L. Stephens of the home; father, Jerry L. Jeter, Sr. of Bridgeport, Conn..; sister, Naimah E. Harris of Silverstreet; brother, Kevin Watts of Clinton; devoted sweetheart, Shuantae V. Small; stepsister, Stacie Stephens Capers (Lee) of Columbia; stepbrother, Sterling Stephens of Columbia; godsister, Torey M. Sligh (Cook); godbrother, Derrick Scurry (Sylvia); three aunts, two uncles; two nephews, Jah and Jackson Capers; adopted niece, Essence Sligh; adopted nephew, Hanif Sligh; numerous cousins and friends.
