POMARIA — Mr. Phillip Willie Davis, 74, of 2583 S.C. Highway 34, Pomaria, died Friday at White Oak Manor in Newberry. Born in Washington, D.C., he was the son of the late Willie Davis and the late Virnes Davis.

He was a member of St. Paul A.M.E. Church. He served in the U.S. Army.

His wife, Mary Frances Lyles Davis, preceded him in death.

Surviving are one daughter, Phyllis Ashford of Pomaria; two sons, Kenneth Paul Lyles (Betty) and Vasser Lyles (Alice), all of Pomaria; granddaughter, Crystal Gibson (Ulysses Jr.); two great-grandchildren, Terrez Foggie and Kayven Gibson; one sister, Evelyn Turner (James) of Charlotte, N.C.; brothers-in-law, Roy Whitney (Margie) of Greenville and William Whitney (Margaret) of Pomaria; sisters-in-law, Dollie Martain (Sgt. Maj. Rosvelt Martain, U.S. Army Ret.) of Columbia and Brenda Whitney of Greenville; son-in-law, Curtis Ashford of Columbia; and other loving relatives and friends.

Funeral schedule will be announced later by Wilson Funeral Home of Newberry.
