NEWBERRY - Audrey Lane Eargle Hawkins, 70, died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, at White Oak Manor.

Born on March 27, 1942, in Newberry, she was the daughter of the late Owens David “Fat” and Edith Huffstetler Eargle.

She worked for Kendall Company, Mollohon Plant and retired from Old School Manufacturing. Mrs. Hawkins was a member of Summer Memorial Lutheran Church where she was a member of WELCA. She was a member of the Newberry Community Choir and Christy’s School of Dance.

She is survived by her husband, Vernon Nichols Hawkins; a son, Scottie (Angela) Hawkins of Prosperity; a daughter, Tracy (Mickey) Fulmer of Prosperity; a brother, Simpson (Darlene) Eargle of Newberry; grandchildren, Megan Ann Hawkins, Justin Hawkins, Beth Fulmer and Michael Fulmer; niece, Ashley Eargle Moore.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at Summer Memorial Lutheran Church by the Rev. Stephen Mims and Rev. Andrew David Eargle. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday from 6- 8 p.m. at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Summer Memorial Lutheran Church Organ Fund, 1609 Milligan St., Newberry, SC 29108.

Active pallbearers will be Paul Brown, Chad Hawkins, Charles Brown, Willard Brown, Justin Hawkins, Dave Franklin and Mike Franklin.

McSwain-Evans Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
