NEWBERRY — Charles Walter Morris, 79, died Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, at Newberry County Memorial Hospital.

Born on Jan. 5, 1933, in Newberry, he was a son of the late Sam and Helen Franklin Morris.

He was a graduate of Newberry College and a Korean War Air Force veteran. He was the retired owner of Morris Furniture Company and a member of Mayer Memorial Lutheran Church.

Mr. Morris is survived by his wife, Nancy F. Morris; a son, Nick (Kim) Morris of Newberry; a daughter, Patti (Yancy) Floyd of Newberry; brothers, Billy Morris and Wayne Morris both of Prosperity; grandchildren, Brandi Riddle, Ashley Mason, Jason Buckner, Kelly Morris, Kristi Floyd and Jennifer Morris; great-grandchildren, Gabi and Colie Riddle. He was predeceased by a daughter, Phyllis Morris and a brother, Donald Morris.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, at Mayer Memorial Lutheran Church by the Rev. Dr. Mary Havens. Burial will follow in Rosemont Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 4-5:30 p.m. at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Mayer Memorial Lutheran Church General Fund, 1307 Drayton St., Newberry, SC 29108.

Active pallbearers will be Jared Riddle, Jason Buckner, Philip Mason, Cale Homesley, Donnie Shealy and Chad Morris.
