SILVERSTREET — Novice Werts Hunter, 95, widow of Harold Horton Hunter Sr., died Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012, at White Oak Manor.

Born on Nov. 1, 1917, in Silverstreet, she was a daughter of the late Edwin Lewis and Annie Elizabeth Lake Werts. Mrs. Hunter was a graduate of Silverstreet High School and was retired from Kaywood Assembly. She was a member of Silverstreet Lutheran Church where she was a member of the WELCA. She was a member of the Silverstreet Ruritan Club and the Home Demonstration Club.

She is survived by her children, Linda (Joe) Guy of Easley, Joan Longshore of Silverstreet, Harold (Robbie) Hunter Jr. of Silverstreet, Miriam (Bob) Templeton of Laurens and Robert Lewis (Tracey) Hunter of Silverstreet; sisters, Katherine Simpson of Greenville and Mildred Boozer of Mars Hill, N.C.; 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Mrs. Hunter was predeceased by brothers, Henry Walter Werts, Thomas Werts, Robert Werts and Lewis Werts.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, 2012, at Silverstreet Lutheran Church by the Rev. Harry Crout. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 6-7:30 p.m. at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Silverstreet Lutheran Church, 120 Long St., Silverstreet, SC 29145.

Active pallbearers will be her grandsons.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Michael Bernardo and to the staff of White Oak Manor and especially Jim Davis for their loving care.
