PROSPERITY — Mr. Gregory Sweetenburg, 47, of 2840 Candy Kitchen Road, Prosperity, died Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012.
Born in Newberry, he was a son of the late Mr. Emory Sweetenburg Sr. and the late Mrs. Mary Frances Bookman Sweetenburg. He was a member of Mt. Hebron A.M.E. Church of Prosperity where he served on the Stewardship Finance Committee. He was also a member of the Sons of Aid Society Lodge No. 14 and Men of Faith. He was employed with Beal Lumber Company as a machine operator.
Those who celebrate his life and cherish loving and precious memories included his wife, Mrs. LaShonda Wise Sweetenburg of the home; one son, Tavaris Carmichael of Greenville; three daughters, Shatavia Wise of Prosperity, Lily Sweetenburg and Gianna Sweetenburg of the home; two sisters, Ms. Mary Nell Wise and Mrs. Mattie Bookman (Furman) of Prosperity; seven brothers, Emory Sweetenburg Jr. (Hattie Mae) of Newberry, Randolph Sweetenburg (Patricia) of Newberry, Heyward Sweetenburg of Little Mountain, Stanley Sweetenburg of Greenville, Raymond Sweetenburg of Little Mountain, Kenneth Sweetenburg of Newberry, John William Sweetenburg (Lesslie) of Pomaria; three grandchildren; three sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; seven aunts, three uncles and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends all of whom grieve his departure but rejoice that he is now resting with the Lord.
