NEWBERRY — Frederick “Fred” Allen Bobb, 76, of 75 Fred Schumpert Road, Newberry, died Saturday, May 19, 2012, at Springfield Place.
He was born on March 12, 1936, in Newberry County, a son of the late Roland Allen and Colie Evans Bobb.
Mr. Bobb served nine years in the South Carolina National Guard and worked for over 27 years in the security field for Wells Fargo and Sizemore. He was a member of West End Baptist Church.
On February 19, 1984, he was married to Judy Fulmer Bobb at the Boys Farm by Rev. “Pop” Shealy. He volunteered at Boys Farm for many years, helping out wherever necessary.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Linda “Cindy” (Kim) Moore of Newberry; son, Roland Allen Bobb of Hilton Head; grandchildren, Kimberly (Teddy) Bonds, James (Courtney) Moore, and Benjamin Moore; and cousins Kenneth Hamm of Prosperity, Barbara Douglas of Columbia, Lewis Bobb of Newberry, JoAnn (Clarence) Shealy of Newberry, and Dr. Maeberta Bobb of Rock Hill; mother-in-law, Ruby A. Fulmer of Prosperity; brother-in-law, Leon (Brenda) Fulmer, Sr. of Prosperity; sister-in-law, Retha (Steve) Frick of Little Mountain; nieces and nephews, Leon (Meredith) Fulmer Jr., Lynnette (Todd) Lever, Rhonda (Eddie) Cannon; great nieces and nephews; Will and Shelby Lever, Lee, Lyle, and Noah Fulmer, and David and Mary Cannon; and special friends, Luther Wheeler, Katie Mae Slice, John Ross, Brandy and Johnnie Wix, Nancy Wilson, Carolyn Gallman, Paige Guy, April Smith and god-children; and Teresa Turner and CJ. He was predeceased by a son, Ralph Allen Bobb.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday at the West End Baptist Church by Rev. David Lyles, Rev. Randall Derrick and Rev. Eddie Bledsoe.
Burial with military honors will be at West End Cemetery.
