PROSPERITY — Mid-Carolina High School hosted its 2013 Virtual Archery Tournament on Feb. 20. The scores gathered from the tournament were used to see if the Mid-Carolina Archery team has what it takes to qualify for the NASP tournament to be held in conjunction with the Palmetto Sportsmen’s Classic.

The Mid-Carolina Archery team has a rich history with the tournament, winning all seven years of its existence. Forty students were on hand to shoot and try out for the 2013 team. After all rounds were scored, the team scored 3,268 points, which was 40 points better than last year’s state tournament score.

Dalton Chapman was the top shooting male and Kristin Long was the top shooting female with scores of 280 and 273, respectively. Congratulations to the archery team for qualifying. Twenty eight students were chosen and will represent Mid-Carolina on March 22 at the NASP tournament at the state fairgrounds in Columbia.
