PROSPERITY — The Mid Carolina Boys varsity soccer team is off to a good start with wins over Clinton and Union.
On March 5, the Rebels defeated Union by a score of 6-2. Senior All-State performer Dillon Pelton opened up the scoring with a goal six minutes into the game. Conner Doolittle later scored on a header. Jesus Reyes added a score with a penalty kick.
Humberto Hernandez next scored three goals for MC. Jesus Reyes added a score with a penalty kick. Union scored two goals in the second half. MC goalkeeper Willie Traylor made several saves.
Two days later the Rebels faced Clinton.
“It was a tough defensive battle in the first half with the score being tied at 0,” said coach Rick Harris.
Rocendo Lopez and Zack Bowers played outstanding defense in keeping Clinton from scoring. In the second half Pelton made several outstanding moves in getting by the Clinton defense and scored three goals.
Reyes also played a great offensive game for the Rebels.
