NEWBERRY — Noah Sidney Derrick, 77, died March 11, 2013, at Palmetto Health Richland.

Born on Dec. 15, 1935, in Chapin, he was a son of the late Arthur and Annie Mae Wessinger Derrick. He was retired from Kendall Company – Oakland Plant and was a member of Cross Point Church and Amity Lodge # 87 AFM.

Mr. Derrick is survived by his wife, Ruth Hunnicutt Derrick; daughters, Debra (Jimmy) Monts and Rose (Chuck) Meadows both of Newberry and Cathy (Frankie) Shealy of Pomaria; sisters, Mable Counts of Little Mountain and Mary Ada Boozer of Prosperity; grandchildren, Jamie (Christina) Monts, Crystal (Chris) McClain, Robbie (Alaina) Monts and Brandon (Natalie) Shealy; great-grandchildren, Dalton Monts, Desiree Monts, Katlyn Lominack, Ceirsten McClain, Hannah Shealy, Carter McClain and Claire McClain.

He was predeceased by a sister, Adelaide Shealy, brothers, Homer Derrick and Furman Derrick and four infant siblings.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday, March 16, 2013, at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Jeff O’Dell. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the home, 621 Shrine Club Road, Newberry.

Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Wix, Linda and Donald Long, Jean and Jerry McCoy, Jimmy Smith and Jane and Larry Gallman and his caregivers.
