NEWBERRY — Newberry County Memorial Hospital is planning a weekend of wellness events that includes free health screenings, a run and walk and an Easter Egg hunt.
This year is the ninth year the hospital has held the event, which will be March 29 and March 30.
On March 29, the hospital will offer free screenings for pre-diabetes, blood pressure, BMI-height and weight and hand grip strength. The testing will be done at the Wellness Center from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m, said Emily J. Seibert, exercise physiologist at Newberry County Memorial Hospital.
March 30 will start with the hospital’s annual 5K run, two mile walk and junior jog. Early registration to receive a T-shirt for being in the walk and run is March 8. The run and walk will begin at 8:30 a.m.
Packet pick-up and race day registration is from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. in the front of the hospital. Once the junior jog is completed, there will be an Easter Egg hunt for the children.
