NEWBERRY — Forty –six members of the Newberry Middle School Junior Beta Club attended the State Convention held in Myrtle Beach, Jan. 24 -25.
All attending members of our club represented Newberry Middle School in the Songfest Competition.
Marianna Robertson placed second in the Spelling Competition, Division II. There were 38 entries from different schools across the state.
Murray Sheppard, Leslie Facio, and Grace Fulmer placed in the top five in the Battle of the Books Competition out of 29 schools. In order to prepare for this competition, they read different books. On behalf of the Newberry Middle club, they are presenting our school library with two of the books they read, “Wonder” and “Chasing Lincoln’s Killer.”
