NEWBERRY — The first 200 fans to attend the grand opening of the softball stadium at the Smith Road Complex on Saturday will receive free hot dogs. The Wolves’ softball team is set to open the stadium and the 2013 season with a 1 p.m. doubleheader against Lees-McRae.

A special first pitch ceremony will honor those who helped make the stadium’s construction possible including Jerry Chitty, Newberry Mayor Foster Senn and members of the Newberry City Council.

Fans attending the softball game are encouraged to park in the grass parking lot nearest the softball stadium, which will be marked. Limited paved parking will be available at the baseball portion of the Smith Road Complex.
