NEWBERRY — The No. 4 Newberry Wolves dominated the wrestling mat from start to finish Saturday, setting a school record for dual points and tying the school record for margin of victory with a 54-0 win over the Ohio Valley Fighting Scots.

The win came in the final session of the 2013 Super Region I Duals presented by Sonic Drive-In of Newberry in Eleazer Arena.

Newberry completed the event with a 14-2 dual record. The Wolves’ next action will come at 7 p.m. Wednesday when they wrestle at King University in Bristol, Tenn.

The Wolves claimed bonus points in seven bouts on the way to a dominant 47-4 win over No. 9 West Liberty in the fifth session.

On Saturday morning the Wolves took eight of 10 bouts on the way to a 39-6 pounding of the East Stroudsburg Warriors in the fourth session.

The Wolves fell behind early and could not pull off the comeback, dropping a 21-14 decision to the No. 11 Pittsburgh-Johnstown Mountain Cats in the second session on Friday night.

The hometown team used a trio of pins to roll to a 42-3 win over the Seton Hill Griffins in the opening dual on Friday.
