NEWBERRY — Newberry police are continuing to investigate two unrelated weekend shootings that seriously injured two people.
The shootings occurred in just under 12 hours of each other on Sunday.
The first happened between 3:30 and 4 a.m. at a house on Havird Street near Boundary Street.
The second happened outside just off Wise Street around 2 p.m. Sunday, according to Newberry Police Chief Jackie Swindler.
Swindler said both of the injured men were airlifted to regional hospitals.
The chief said more details about the shootings will become available as the investigations continue but he adds the two shooting are not related.
Police are continuing to investigate both shootings and asks if anyone has information about the Wise Street shooting to call his office at 321-1010.
