ROCK HILL — For the third time this season and second week in a row, Newberry sophomore Haylee Lepaio has been named South Atlantic Conference Player of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday.

This week’s player of the week award factored in all results from the holiday break.

In the Wolves’ return from break, Lepaio led Newberry to a 68-62 victory at Claflin. Lepaio recorded her sixth double-double of the season against the Lady Panthers, notching 25 points and 10 rebounds, while also recording an assist. Lepaio also blocked five shots against Claflin, all of which came in the second half.

Lepaio then finished with 21 points and seven rebounds on Saturday as Newberry picked up a 72-61 conference victory over Mars Hill. Lepaio also blocked two shots against the Lions.
