NEWBERRY - A. Ruth Miller Tyler, 86, widow of Robert L. “Bob” Tyler Sr., died Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, at White Oak Manor.

Born on April 18, 1926, in Newberry, she was a daughter of the late Siron B. and Carrie Davis Miller. Mrs. Tyler worked for J.P. Stevens Company and retired from the Newberry County Council on Aging.

She is survived by a son, Robert L. Tyler Jr. of Newberry and Phyllis T. Cheatham of Moncks Corner; grandchildren, Christopher Cheatham, Cara C. Hogg, Michael R. Tyler and Mitchell E. Tyler and eight great-grandchildren. Mrs. Tyler was predeceased by sisters, Allie Mae Morris and Virginia M. Fulmer and brothers, Homer Miller, S.W. “Bo” Miler and Collie Miller.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012, at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Rosemont Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home. Active pallbearers will be her grandsons.
