The Mid-Carolina Middle School basketball teams split games with Edgewood Middle School on Tuesday as they opened their season.
The girls lost a 32-13 match with Edgewood as their top scorer made 16 points.
Gracen Hester was the top scorer for Mid-Carolina with eight points and a rebound.
Alex Fulmer had three points, three rebounds and a steal for the young Rebels.
Charlsy Traylor scored two points, had five rebounds and two steals.
Chazity Count added three rebounds and a steal.
Callie Blanchard and Camyrn Long each had two rebounds and a steal.
Cassi Ruff was sick and did not play.
The MC boys had a lopsided score as they won 42-4 over Edgewood with all of Edgewood’s points coming from a single player.
Keenan Boland was the top point getter with 10 and he had a steal and three assists.
Zachary Hentz scored six points, had six blocks, 10 rebounds, two assists and seven steals.
Corey Stone scored six points, had five steals, a block and made four rebounds.
Cade Ruff also scored six points, two steals, four assists and had rebounds.
Iyon Thompson made four points, added 2 steals and 10 rebounds.
Jeb Fulmer made three points.
Drew Cromer scored two points, a steal and had a rebound.
Jaterran Wise had two points and five rebounds.
R.J. Wadsworth made two points, had three rebounds and a steal.
Jalen Bates Caldwell scored a point.
Jevon Boyd had four rebounds and Cornelius Gallman made three rebounds.
The teams will played Saluda on Thursday. The scores were not available at press time.
