NEWBERRY — Harry A. Mills, 90, formerly of 45 Hartford Heights, Newberry, died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2012, at J. F. Hawkins Nursing Home.

Born on Aug. 3, 1922, in Newberry, he was a son of the late Samuel and Emma Reeves Mills. He was an Army veteran of W.W. II, a former employee of the City of Newberry and was a member of Summer Memorial Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Ida Mae Smith Mills; a number of nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law, Polly Mills. He was predeceased by his infant sons Terry, Jerry, and Perry Mills and his siblings, Helen O’Dell, Heyward Mills, Leland Mills, Elon Mills, and Ronald Mills.

Visitation was from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23, 2012, at the Whitaker Funeral Home.

Graveside funeral services were conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday Nov. 24, 2012 at Rosemont Cemetery.
