NEWBERRY — A local company just expanded its wings to become more versatile.
Davenport and Willingham cut the ribbon on their new business on Tuesday.
The company has been known for servicing big rigs but now they are also offering a wide selection of parts and accessories for sale.
The service department was located on Park Avenue behind the old John Deere Tractor store on Kendall Road, Highway 121, and Davenport and Willingham were given the opportunity to purchase the tractor store after it moved to Wilson Road.
The tractor store is now filled with accessories for trucks and a road has been plowed between the two businesses.
Co-owner Bobby Willingham, who owns the business with Alan Davenport, says he could not have expanded with the community’s support and the help of others.
Willingham adds the storefront on the busy highway also makes his service business more visible to the many truckers who travel the road. In fact, Kendall Road is said to be one of the busiest two lane roads with truck traffic in the state.
“It is still a work in progress,” said Willingham. “We can’t do it without help.”
The new store is open Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and may be contacted by calling 321-2535.
