BUSH RIVER/WHITMIRE — A sketch has been produced of one of the suspects wanted for burglaries in the Bush River and Whitmire area of the county.

The Newberry County Sheriff’s Office is still requesting the assistance of the public to help them search for two suspects wanted for five burglaries that have occurred in the Bush River and Old Whitmire community of the county.

“We are making every effort to locate these suspects,” said Sheriff Lee Foster. “We are asking the community to join forces with us to help locate these suspects and stop those who would violate the homes of our citizens.”

Since the five burglaries, there have been no additional burglaries.

The sheriff’s office has asked the public to stay aware since Oct. 19 when there was an alert sent out about two Black males described between the ages of 20 and 30.

One of the men has a dark complexion, heavy build and short hair but there is not description of the second man.

They were seen in a white vehicle but it was not clear if the vehicle was a car or SUV.

Foster said that increased patrols and other law enforcement activities would be ongoing until the suspects are apprehended.

Anyone who might see this vehicle or have information on the suspects are asked to contact the Newberry County Sheriff’s Office at 321-2222.
