ERNEST EUGENE “POSSUM” BEDENBAUGH

PROSPERITY — Ernest Eugene “Possum” Bedenbaugh, 78, died Monday, Sept. 6, 2010, at Lexington Medical Center.

Born on Oct. 10, 1931, in Prosperity, he was a son of the late Ernest J. and Marie Guin Bedenbaugh. He retired from Robert’s Citgo and was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church.

Surviving are his wife, Doliene Frick Bedenbaugh; a son, Lee (Elaine) Bedenbaugh of Pomaria; daughters, Debbie (Alva) Gaskin of Evans, Ga. and Vicki (Ronnie) Boozer of Chapin; grandchildren, Al (Penny) Gaskin, Kathy Gaskin, Kayla Boozer, Elise Bedenbaugh and Justin Bedenbaugh. Mr. Bedenbaugh was predeceased by a brother, Jacob Lee Bedenbaugh.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church by the Rev. Jason Schafer and Rev. Art Hallman. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be today from 6 – 8 p.m. at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall Fund, 4056 St. Luke’s Church Road, Prosperity, SC 29127.

Active pallbearers: Justin Bedenbaugh, Dennis Frick, Al Gaskin, Ronnie Kinard, Alex Metts and John Vernon Pugh.
