A Newberry woman is being treated at the burn center in Augusta after a cooking accident yesterday.

Around 10:30 a.m. yesterday, an elderly Caldwell Street woman was cooking when her stove tipped over.

The tipping of the stove caused hot grease and steam to hit her hands, face and chest.

The woman was airlifted from the Silverstreet ballfield to the Joseph Still Burn Center in Augusta. She reportedly has second degree burns from the incident.
