Ms. Dewalt died Monday, June 21, 2010, at Lexington Medical Center. Born in Newberry County, she was the daughter of Earnestine Walker Dewalt and the late James Dewalt Sr. She was a member of Boozer Chapel Baptist Church.
Surviving are her mother, Earnestine W. Dewalt; daughter, Octavia W. Gallman (Tyrone) of Prosperity; son, Reggie L. Dewalt of Newberry; four sisters, Mary “Libby” Hutcherson (Willie) of Newberry, Betty Glasgow (Randy), Phyllis Dewalt, Tammie Dewalt, all of Prosperity; three brothers, Fletcher Walker, James Dewalt Jr. (Cynthia), all of Prosperity, Sherman Dewalt of McCormick; grandmother, Susanna Green; 10 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, four aunts, two uncles, a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at 76 Benson Drive, Prosperity.
