Luther “Luke” Shealy Meetze, 24, of Piester Road, Newberry, was charged by the Richland County Sheriff’s Office after he reportedly attacked a woman in her home on June 5.
Meetze is charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct and first-degree burglary.
Bond for Meetze was denied yesterday.
Meetze reportedly tried to call and text the woman, whom he once dated. When she did not answer, Meetze went to her home around 3 a.m. Saturday, reports state.
He then allegedly climbed to the second floor and climbed through a window into the apartment. Reports say Meetze yelled at the woman for not answering the calls, threw her on the bed and raped her.
The victim says that Meetze then said that if she told anyone, he would be back to kill her and her sister’s baby. Also threatening to cut her throat and hang her jugular vein on his wall.
Meetze reportedly did not have a previous record and is a Chapin Middle School teacher and a football coach at Chapin High.
