NEWBERRY — Anne B. Wicker, our loving wife, mother and Nanny, age 63, passed into life eternal on Thursday, June 3, 2010, surrounded by family and friends.

Mrs. Wicker was born on Aug. 14, 1946, the daughter of the late Leonard Spratt Black and Kitty Mae McCorkle Black. She is survived by her loving husband, Henry of the home; a daughter, Gina (Craig) Templeton of Newberry; a son, Eddie (Krissi) Wicker of Prosperity; brothers, Sonny (Sybil) Black of Lancaster, Robert (Kay) Black of Ridgeway and Ernie (Gail) Black of Winnsboro; a sister, Mary Frances “MeMe” Kelly of Winnsboro; a sister-in-law, Shirley Black of Florida; seven grandchildren, Kristi and Jessica Culbreth, Megan, Brittany and Hayden Grace Templeton, and Bradley and Kaylee Wicker; along with several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Wicker was predeceased by a brother, Mack Black; brother-in-law, Bobby Kelly and a sister-in-law, Nita Black.

She was a member of St. Philip’s Lutheran Church. She retired from the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles after 31 faithful years of service. After retirement, Mr. and Mrs. Wicker spent many years in Maggie Valley, N.C. where they met many loving and devoted friends.

Funeral services were conducted at 3 p.m., Sunday, June 6, 2010, at St. Philip’s Lutheran Church by the Rev. Terry Amick. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

A special thanks goes out to all the doctors, nurses, and staff of Mission Memorial Hospital in Asheville, N.C. for their love, care and support.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to St. Philip’s Lutheran Church Family Life Center, 2461 St. Philip’s Church Road, Newberry, South Carolina 29108.

Active pallbearers will be Rob Black, Will Black, Thomas Black, Terry Koon, Christopher Wicker and Andrew Wicker.

Honorary pallbearers will be The Lutheran Men in Mission and WELCA of St. Philip’s Lutheran Church.
