The mayor and town council are holding the event to help bring awareness to the town and bring visitors to the small community, said Mayor Travis Gilliam.
The park is located on Highway 34 across from the fire department.
The event is the first of many scheduled for the town and will include grilled hotdogs, games, a deejay and inflatables for all ages of children to play on.
Gilliam said there would be inflatables for ages from young toddlers to adults to play on.
While the hotdog plates will cost $3 each the rest of the events are free, said Gilliam. The hotdog plates will consist of a grilled hotdog, chips, a drink and slaw.
Any money raised on the hotdog plates will be used for the park and town recreational events.
"This will be a fun day for everyone to get together," said Gilliam, who will also be deejaying the event.
While there are slim chances of rain, if the weather is wet on Saturday the picnic will be moved to May 15.
