NEWBERRY — Eugenia Moates Crumpton, 79, widow of Olin Houseal Crumpton, died Sunday, April 25, 2010, at Palmetto Health Richland.

Born on April 23, 1931, in Union, she was a daughter of the late William Dewey and Mary Belle Wix Moates. She was retired from Damon International and a member of Enoree Baptist Church.

Surviving is a daughter, Janet C. (John T.) Moran of Newberry; a son, Alan Houseal (Teresa) Crumpton of Whitmire; sister, Bobbie Jewel Smith of Newberry; a brother, William Rupert Moates of Newberry; grandchildren, Jonathan Moran, Thomas Moran, Steven Moran, Jessica Crumpton and Cody Crumpton; a great-granddaughter, Skylend Moran. Mrs. Crumpton was predeceased by a sister, Doshia Rankin and a brother, Oral Moates.

Committal services will be held at 4 p.m. today, April 28, 2010, at Enoree Baptist Church Cemetery. A memorial service and visitation will immediately follow in the church. Memorials may be made to Enoree Baptist Church, c/o Reba Lake, 5101 Jolly Street, Road, Newberry, SC 29108.

Active pallbearers: Andrew Shealy, Gordon Slice, Wilford Moates, Adam Smith, Ricky Smith and Junior Roper.

Honorary pallbearers: Frankie Young, Margaret Hester, Tracy Cannon, Elsie Henson, Wanda Spell, Harold Lake, Lawrence Lever, Barry Wix, David Russell Moates, Wayne Wilson and Leslie Rankin.

im sorry to here that she passed away a use to help her run c& m trash pick up for newberry county she will be missed and loved and she gave me a place eo live when i didnt have no where to go love always connie edgins
