Two masked men barged into a Wilson Road convenience store early this morning robbing it at gunpoint of smokes, lottery tickets and money.

Two men entered Robert’s Citgo, located on at 1843 Wilson Road, Newberry, just after 2:30 a.m. and robbed the store at gunpoint, according to Sheriff Lee Foster.

One of the suspects was armed with a revolver-type handgun that he received from the second suspect, said Foster. The other suspect has a semi-automatic handgun, the sheriff said.

“The men stole cigarettes, cigars, lottery tickets and a small amount of money before fleeing the store,” said Foster.

Foster added that no vehicle description or direction of travel was known.

One of the suspects is described as a black male. He entered the store wearing black clothing and a black mask. He is described as being 5’ 8” to 5’10” tall and weighing about 150 pounds. He has a medium complexion and possibly is in his mid 20’s, witnesses said.

The second suspect, also a black male, entered the store wearing dark pants, a black nylon windbreaker with a red stripe on the sleeve, and with a red bandanna covering his face. He was carrying a black shoulder bag. This suspect is also described as ranging in height from 5’8” to 5’10” and weighing about 150 pounds. He had a darker complexion and his age is estimated at between 20-25 years.

Anyone with information about the armed robbery or the suspects is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 321-2222.
