Edwards faced 22 Bulldogs as he struck out 14, didn’t allow a single walk and gave up a single to the first and last batter he faced to lead off the seventh inning.
Hubert Wicker and Krishawn Holley were the first two of four consecutive Rebels to get hits in the first inning.
They would both be brought home one pitch later after Martez Gallman took a home run to right field for the 3-0 score.
MCHS got another run in the second inning when Wicker got his second of four hits on the night as Tevins Walker, who had reached on a left field single, scored.
The Rebels got their fifth run across home plate in the fourth inning as Jonathan Davenport, who was walked, scored on an infield error throw on Wicker’s third hit of the night.
Mid-Carolina got three more runs in the sixth inning including an RBI from both Wicker and Holley.
Tyrone Neal got the first hit for NHS in the seventh inning moved to third on Lance Brehmer’s single three batters later.
Wicker went 4-for-4 with two RBIs from the plate while Holley went 2-for-4 with an RBI for the Rebels.
Three Bulldogs reached base on infield errors.
NHS will travel to Whitmire tonight and will play host to Saluda Friday.
In the game preceding the varsity contest, the J.V. Rebels defeated the J.V Bulldogs 10-6 in five innings of play.
