Just after noon, officers responded to the call at 1620 Indian Land Apartments. The two officers reported smelling marijuana when the apartment door was opened.
Officers called for backup and for the leasee, Teshirra Nyshonn Bishop, 25, to come to the residence.
Bishop gave police permission to search the apartment, according to Police Captain Chuck Counts.
During the search, officers discovered three firearms, 13 grams of marijuana, 83 grams of powder cocaine and 141 grams of crack cocaine. Officer also seized a small amount of cash.
The value of the drugs is around $20,000, according to police department figures.
Counts says officers believe a group of individuals were manufacturing crack cocaine at the apartment.
Also, a baby was found sleeping in a bedroom in the apartment, according to Counts.
Jordan Darrell McMorris, 25, of 422 Drayton St., Newberry, was arrested and charged with first offense trafficking crack cocaine, trafficking crack cocaine more than 100 grams, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, possession with intent to distribute marijuana and two counts of possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine in the proximity of a park, playground or school.
Sims was also charged with outstanding warrants from July for manufacturing or possession crack cocaine and possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine in the proximity of a school.
Zachary A. Sims, 25, of 1620 Indian Land Drive, Newberry, was arrested and charged with trafficking crack cocaine, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, manufacturing crack cocaine, criminal conspiracy, unlawful conduct towards a child and possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine in the proximity of a park, playground or school.
Bishop was arrested and charged with trafficking crack cocaine 10 or more grams, manufacturing crack cocaine, criminal conspiracy and possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine in the proximity of a park, playground or school.
Bishop turned herself in on the charges yesterday, and at press time remained in custody and was awaiting a bond hearing.
Sims was released on a $50,000 bond and McMorris was being held on a $150,000 bond.
