Baseball The varsity baseball team faced Spartanburg Christian Tuesday and wound up with an uncommon outcome, a 2-2 tie.

The game was called due to darkness, despite pleas from both teams to finish the game.

Newberry Academy fell behind in the fourth inning 1-0, and gave up another run in the fifth.

The Eagles opened the bottom of the seventh inning with back to back singles by Justin Suber and Alex Cole. Both players scored in the inning to tie the game, but that is as far as they would come.

Ben Wilson scattered seven hits and three walks to go with his 10 strikeouts.

The J.V. game against Newberry High Thursday was cancelled due to weather and will be rescheduled.

This week, the baseball team faces the King J.V. today, Greenwood Christian varsity tomorrow, and Richard Winn J.V. on Friday. All three games are away.

Softball The Newberry Academy J.V. softball team was in action Friday against King Academy.

Newberry fell behind but battled back for a 7-6 win.

Jessica Cole was three for three and had four RBIs including the game-winning run.

Kaitlyn Nobles was the winning pitcher for the Eagles. Nobles also drove in three runs with a double.

The varsity game that was part of the scheduled doubleheader was cancelled due to weather. The game will not be rescheduled.

This week, the softball team faces the varsity team at Anderson Christian tomorrow, and plays a J.V. doubleheader against Wardlaw Wednesday at home.

The Lady Eagles end the week on the road on Friday, visiting Bowman Academy for a J.V. and varsity doubleheader.
