NEWBERRY — Sandra Louise Young Palmore, of 2513 Sycamore Drive, Newberry, born on Dec. 16, 1954 in Newberry County, the daughter of the late Edward Young Sr. and Bessie S. Robertson Young, made her transition on Feb. 17, 2010 at Lexington Medical Center.

Sandra was preceded in death by her brother, Edward Young Jr. and her sister, Mildred Young.

Sandra was educated in the Newberry public schools and later received her education with Stratford Careers. She was employed by White Oak Manor until her health failed. Sandra was a faithful member of Elisha A.M.E. Church and a member of Woman’s Home Aid Society, Lodge #19. She loved to cook and always helping her family, friends and her church.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories, her sisters, Loretta S. Benson of Newberry and Brenda I. Greene of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; two brothers, Dean Young of Newberry and Jerry L. Young of Irmo; one uncle, Joseph Rhodes Jr., of Newberry; two aunts, Mrs. Mattie Tate and Mrs. Laura Farrow, both of Buffalo, N.Y.; a devoted companion, Andrew Wise of Prosperity; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Trinity A.M.E. Church, with burial will follow in the Elisha A.M.E Church Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home.
