Mountville — Joyce “Janice” Carr Braswell, 67, of 1388 Burnt Mill Creek Road, widow of Ralph Leamon Braswell Sr., passed away Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010 at the Laurens County Hospital.

Born in Laurens, she was the daughter of William Edward Carr of Laurens and the late Lillian Roxie Norwood Thompson and husband, Carroll Ray Thompson. She was a homemaker, member of Beaverdam Baptist Church, and loving and devoted mother and grandmother to all.

Surviving are one son, Ralph Leamon Braswell Jr. and fiancée, Darlene, of Mountville; three daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah Kee Parsons and Dale of Enoree, Melissa Ann Glass and Donald of Ninety Six, and Tammy Lynn Foster and Mike of Clinton; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m., today, Jan. 8, 2010, at Beaverdam Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Phil Bryson with burial in the church cemetery.

The family will be at the home and will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m.
