Officers are still searching for two suspects in a July shooting that seriously injured a cab driver and left the community shaken.

On July 27, Macedonia Gallman, who was working for C&C Commute, picked up two men on Smith Road near Newberry Academy around 11 p.m.

When Gallman did not report in to his dispatchers, they called the Sheriff’s Office to look for the driver.

A deputy found Gallman lying in a ditch in the Chappells area. The cab was found in another ditch near the intersection of Belmont Church and Belfast roads.

Gallman was treated for his grievous gunshot wounds.

One of the suspects is described as about 6 feet tall and in his 20’s. He was wearing a baseball hat, white T-shirt and dark colored pants.

A substantial cash reward is being offered for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the suspects.

Anyone with information can contact the Sheriff’s Office at 321-2211 or www.newberrycountysheriff.com.
