The Newberry County Democratic Party is having the First Democratic Stump Meeting of 2010 Race for Governor Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Hawg Heaven.
This event will bring all five of the Democratic contenders for the Governor’s seat into the county, one night after the five Republican contenders will hold a debate at the Opera House.

“All five of the Democratic candidates have been invited and all five have graciously accepted,” according to Newberry County Democratic Party Chairman, Dave Waldrop. He added, “The citizens of Newberry County are fortunate to be the first in the state to see and hear these exciting candidates and enjoy an outstanding meal at the same time.”
The stump meeting is to be combined with the group’s fall supper and rally.
The evening meal will begin at 6 p.m. and the candidate speeches should start by 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 and include the program and meal. Tickets may be obtained by calling Gerald Meadows at 321-3023.
