The shooting occurred between 6 and 6:30 p.m. yesterday.
An unidentified man was shot in the face during the incident and was taken to Palmetto Health Richland.
Newberry Police Lt. Kevin Atkins said this morning that he has several suspects in the case and hopes to make arrests later today.
Police are not releasing the name of the victim until they are able to talk with him, but did say he is an adult male. The man’s condition at press time was not known.
No motive for the shooting was known at press time.
