Well, the girls played Landrum this evening. They were quite nervous when we got there and I hate to say it but I was too. I think it was just the first game jitters.

The score of the first set was 25-7, the second was 25-5, and the third was 25-10.

We lost all three sets but the girls did a great job for their first game.

Angel Simpkins was moving all over the court and was able to save several balls from hitting the floor. Lyndie McDaniel did a fantastic job serving and was very consistent, we just could not keep the serve.

Crystal Wallace, Cassie Mull and Lyndie McDaniel all had an ace apeice.

Kentrel Whitmire was put in during the last set and she was amazing with the serve receive. She still needs to work on her serve so Cassie substituted in to complete the serve and then came back out.

Jocelyn had wonderful passes that any setter could have gotten under.

Overall, there were some mistakes but the girls did play hard! There attitude after the game was, and I quote, “We will get them next time when we’re home!”

After finishing our first competition, we have realized there are some areas that we will need to focus more on: serving consistently, getting our setters to move around and own the court, and blocking.
