Two council members spots are coming open on the at-large council—Allen Gallman and Derek Underwood’s. The mayor’s seat, currrently filled by Larry Spotts, will also be up for grabs in the November vote.
All three men whose seats are coming open have filed to run again, but not all for the same spots.
Both Spotts and Underwood have filed paperwork at Town Hall signaling their intentions to run for the mayor’s seat. Gallman has filed to run another term as town councilman.
Town Manager Karen Livingston says others have picked up paperwork from Town Hall, but no one else has filed to run.
Potential candidates interested in sitting on Prosperity’s Town Council or as the town’s mayor must file at the Town Hall at 250 School Drive by noon on Sept. 4.
Prosperity’s town offices are non-partisan and there is no filing fee. Candidates must live within the town limits and be registered to vote.
