The Mid-Carolina team will begins play on Saturday at 8 p.m. in a game against the host team, Lexington American.
If Mid-Carolina wins in the double elimination contest on Saturday, they will play again on Sunday at 8 p.m. If they lose, they will play Monday at 5:30 p.m.
But Head Coach Vince Branham says winning the first game is important in the tournament.
On Thursday, Branham said Mackenzie Flemon would more than likely get the call to be the team’s leadoff pitcher on Saturday.
“We are going to give them a run for their money,“ said Branham.
The coach adds that if the team hits like they did against Abbeville in the district tournament, that they’ll be just fine.
There are 10 team in the state finals including teams from Greer, Mauldin, Sumter, Beaufort and Lancaster.
Play will begin at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Lexington Dixie Youth Baseball Complex at 501 Ball Park Road in Lexington.
