JOHN LOMAS LINDLER JR.

PROSPERITY — John Lomas Lindler Jr., 85, died Sunday, June 21, 2009 at Palmetto Health Heart Hospital.

Born in Peak on Feb. 4, 1924, he was a son of the late John Lomas Sr. and Lila Stoudemire Lindler. Mr. Lindler was retired from Kendall Company, Oakland Plant and was a World War II Marine veteran. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where he was a member of the Men’s Bible Class. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Louise Shealy Lindler; a daughter, Pamela “Pam” DeHart; sisters, Margaret Whorton, Martha Jo Mahaffey, Sue Grant, Mabel Cain and Annie Laurie Graham; brothers, William Howard Lindler, Phillip Lindler and Robert Lindler; grandchildren, Michael (Tamra) Taylor and Brett (Jessica) Taylor; great-grandchildren, Raegan Taylor and Hunter Taylor. Mr. Lindler was predeceased by a brother, Mack Lindler.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, 2009, at St. Paul Lutheran Church by the Rev. Brent Nichols. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers: Michael Taylor, Brett Taylor, Barry Richardson, Stanley Shealy, John Lindler and Carold Wicker.

Honorary pallbearers: Men’s Bible Class of St. Paul Lutheran Church, members of the Pomaria Rescue Squad and Prosperity Rescue Squad and Kevin Travis.
