Susan and Shawn Gaunt of Buford, Ga. and Mike and Lynn Cousins of Newberry are pleased to announce the engagement of their children Emily Marie Gaunt and Matthew Michael Cousins.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. John Gaunt and the late Mrs. LeeAnn Gaunt of Lilburn, Ga., and Mr. Edward Bowman and the late Mrs. Shawnee Bowman of Lilburn, Ga.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Mrs. Lena Patterson of Easley and the late Loyd Patterson Sr., and Mr. and Mrs. Warren Cousins of Newberry.

The bride-elect is a 2008 biochemistry graduate of Clemson University, Calhoun Honors College. She is currently employed by Hennessy Lexus of Atlanta.

The groom-elect is a 2006 graduate of Clemson University, Calhoun Honors College and a 2008 Master of Science in Plant and Environmental Science graduate of Clemson University. He is currently employed by Clemson University.

Both Matthew and Emily will be entering the cellular and molecular medicine PhD program at Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, Md. in July.

The wedding will be held on Saturday, June 13 at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Prosperity.
